The team for the Kano Conference Marking exercise has, on Sunday, May 22,2022, paid a visit to the former Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdalla Uba Adamu in the state.

The team was led by the coordinator of the conference marking in Kano, who is also the Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Professor Shuaibu Moses Etila to the former Vice-Chancellor’s personal office at Gidan Dabino, Kano.

Professor Adamu expressed his profound gratitude, excitement, saying that he was delighted to have received the marking team in his office.

He expressed that it is an honour to him that over twenty people were visiting him in his tiny little office to pay homage.

He added that he felt like he was back at the National Open University again because of the wonderful people he saw that represented every body in the university.

I really thought Professor Shuaibu might come alone or may be two of them but a whole full bus coming to say hello. I am honored," said Professor Adamu.

The former Vice-Chancellor hoped that the markers would enjoy Kano as one of the most peaceful states in the federation and extremely prosperous, dynamic and commercial.

He, therefore, urged them to create time despite their tight schedule and visit some  basic tourist attraction centres like the Gidan Makama Museum as well as the Emir’s Palace.

We would make an arrangement for them to tour the Emir's Palace.

There is also the famous Kurmi Market which has been there for over one thousand years to also go and explore and see the kind of trades and crafts that they sell there,”said Professor Adamu.

According to him, the most important thing for particularly those who have never been to Kano, is to relax and enjoy the accomodative and tolerant people of Kano.

Like I said, Kano is one of the most relatively peaceful states in the federation and has much more tolerance than other places,” he emphasised.

Earlier, the team leader, Professor Shuaibu Moses Atila, stated as one of their VCs and a leader who provided a level play ground for success, we deemed it necessary to honour him with a visit.

He, therefore, thanked the former Vice-Chancellor for a wonderful reception.

Etila further said they will continue to count on his contribution for further successes.
