Jubilation as Asaga-Ohafia, Isulo centres host first examinations

The Asaga-Ohafia Community Study Centre, Ohafia Local Government Area, Abia State and Isulo Community Study Centre, Orumba-North Local Government of Anambra State have successfully hosted their respective maiden Pen-On-Paper (POP) examinations, which kicked off across the centres of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).

The exercise, which commenced on Tuesday, 9th November 2021, was the first of its kind each of the centres hosted within their domain since their inceptions.

It would be recalled that Asaga-Ohafia centre was inaugurated on Friday, 12th February 2021, while the Isulo centre was established on Saturday, 13th February 2021.

The director, Asaga-Ohafia, Dr. Nkata U. Kalu, expressed his happiness for the successful exercise despite all the odds and described the feat as a giant stride, stressing that it is an indication that the centre has come to stay.

He recounted some encumbrances students encountered when travelling to and from Umudike Study Centre to take exams during the 2021_1 examination and thanked the university and DEA for the opportunity to hosts the POP examination.

The director also acknowledged the smooth commencement of 2021_2 examination and expressed his optimism that it would end seamlessly.

 

On her part, the Director, Isulo centre, Dr. Bibian Ugoala, expressed her joy and described it as a high point of dream being fulfilled.

Ugoala explained that students were calm and quiet while taking their examination under a friendly and conducive environment with an uninterrupted supply of electricity.

While appreciating the university for the privilege to host the 2021_2 POP examination , she also noted that the entire staff and students were happy for this new development.
