NOUN conducts 2021 promotion exam for non-teaching staff

The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has on Thursday, 28 October 2021, conducted the promotion examination for the senior non-teaching staff of the university.

The exercise, which was held at the six geo-political regions of the country, was for the 2021 set and was administered on the Pen-on-Paper basis.

At the Abuja Model Study Centre, which was the venue for the North-central region, the exercise was conducted under the watchful eyes of the Registrar, Mr. Felix I. Edoka.

But before the commencement of the exercise at 10:15am, he took time off to explain the dos and don’ts of the examination and advised the candidates to stick to the laid down guidelines.

In Enugu, staff due for the promotion exercise in the South-east region took their examination at the Enugu Study Centre, which also welcomed staff from the neighbouring Asaba and Benin study centres.

Deputy Registrar, Council, Mrs. Wosilatu Ainodion, who supervised the conduct of the exam, expressed her satisfaction on the seamless administration and conduct of the exercise at the centre.

On the part of staff, Ainodion explained that they observed the rules and regulations of the examination, stressing that it was conducted on a good atmosphere of tranquility.

With a total of fifty-four (54) staff participated at the centre, Ainodion was assisted by an Administrative Officer II, Mr. James Adama David.

In the same vein, candidates in the South-south geopolitical zone headed to the university’s Uyo Study Centre for the examination.

The exercise, which was administered by the Director, Human Resources, Mr. John James Ubaji, commenced at exactly 10.05 am and ended at 12.05 pm.

Ubaji was assisted, on the exercise, by Mrs. Funsho Oyedokun of the Directorate of Human Resources (Senior Section). 

Candidates for this year's exercise in Uyo were drawn from Bayelsa, Rivers, Cross River and Akwa Ibom states.

The North-east candidates of the university took their examination at the Bauchi Study Centre in Bauchi State.

They converged on the Auditorium Hall of the centre, as 33 candidates from the region including Jos Study Centre from North-central, participated. 

Earlier, the Deputy Register, Human Resource (Junior Section), Mrs. Fatima Bashir, who supervised the conduct of the examination, called on them to conduct themselves maturely and adhere strictly to the rules and regulations guiding the promotion examination.

Bashir added that the promotion exercise was for non-teaching staff between CONTISS 6 - 14.

The examination in Bauchi started at 10:10am 

NOUN News correspondent at the venue observed an atmosphere of orderliness as the examination was being monitored by the Deputy Registrar and other registry staff deployed for the assignment.
