NOUN : Ofulue, Bandele, Marafa to assume new office

The Vice-Chancellor, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof Olufemi Peters, has approved certain changes in the leadership of some directorates in the institution.

This was contained in a memo dated November 3rd, 2021 and signed by the Director, Human Resources, Mr John J. Ubaji, on behalf of the Registrar.

The changes will see Prof. Christine Ofulue of the Faculty of Arts assuming office as the new Director, Regional Training and Research Institute for Distance and Open Learning (RETRIDOL), with effect from 2nd November, 2021.

“As a Director, you are responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day activities of the Directorate and this is in addition to your original schedule as an Academic Staff in the Department of Languages ,Faculty of Arts,’’ the memo said.

Also, Prof. Mercy Ogunsola-Bandele of the Faculty of Education will assume office as the new Director, Quality Assurance (QA) with effect from 2nd November, 2021.

The appointment conveyed in a memo dated November 3rd, 2021 and signed by the Director, Human Resources, Mr. John J. Ubaji, on behalf of the Registrar, said Bandele’s appointment is with effect from 2nd November, 2021.

“As a Director, you are responsible to the Vice-Chancellor  for the day-to-day  activities of the Directorate and this is in addition to your original schedule as Academic Staff of the Department of Science Education, Faculty of Education’’,it stated.

Meanwhile, Mr Nasir G. Marafa of the Bursary Department is to assume office as the Acting Director, Directorate of Procurement of the university.

Marafa’s appointment, conveyed in a memo dated 3rd November, 2021 and signed by the Director, Human Resources, Mr. John J. Ubaji, on behalf of the Registrar, is with effect from 2nd November, 2021.

“As the acting Director, you are responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day to day activities of the Directorate and this is in addition to your original schedule as Deputy Bursar in the Bursary Department, " the memo stated.

Each of the three appointment letters explained that “Please, note that this appointment is for a period of two (2) years in the first instance and renewable for a second and final term of two (2) years subject to satisfactory performance."
