NOUN set for 2021 academic workshop in Uyo

As part of its efforts to ensure quality of test items in line with the Vice-Chancellor’s emphasis on excellence in quality delivery of knowledge to learners, the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) will be holding its 2021 academic workshop in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

The 11-day workshop, tagged: “2021 Test Item Development Workshop for NOUN Academic Staff.’’ will be under strict observance of Covid-19 protocols.      

It is scheduled to hold at the NOUN Study Centre, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State from 10th- 20th March, 2021.

According to the director, Exams and Assessment (EA), Prof. Godwin Akper, part of the objectives of the workshop is to ensure that minimum of 2-set of items will be developed for examination.

The workshop will kick-off with a one- day training for the newly appointed study centre directors on the 10th of March, 2021, which will be followed by another for the faculties.

The faculties are to take turns for their training as thus: Faculty of Arts, Agricultural Sciences, Health Sciences, Education and Law slated to hold between 11th- 12th March, 2021, Faculty of Sciences slated for 15th- 16th March, 2021, while the Faculty of Management Sciences and Social Sciences are to take their turn from 17th- 20th March, 2021.

Director Exams and Assessment also stated that the batching of the training is to ensure that approved number of participants is allowed to the venue every session.

Participants include examiners, Head of Departments, Deans of Faculties, Vetter’s and Faculty Officers.
