NOUN’s RETRIDOL to Commence Monthly ODL Discourse for Scholars

As part of its efforts in keeping scholars abreast with current trends in Open and Distance Learning (ODL), resuscitate debates, discussions and new forums in ODL, the National Open University of Nigeria’s Regional Training and Research Institute for Distance and Open Learning (NOUN-RETRIDOL) has concluded plans to hold its monthly ODL Discourse for Scholars.

The Modified RETRIDOL Monthly ODL Discourse is to replace the old monthly seminar, which hitherto had been organised for academic staff of the university to present their research findings.

In a Press Release signed by the Director, RETRIDOL, Prof. Patrick Eya, the discourse will be hosted virtually once every month and will feature local and international scholars, while topics for the discourse will be ODL-focus and tailored towards national and international trends in ODL.

According to Prof. Eya, the maiden edition of the event will be hosted virtually on the 29th of April 2021, from 11.00am - 12:30pm. The speaker will be Prof. Oyesoji Aremu of the Faculty of Education, University of Ibadan.

Since inception, NOUN- RETRIDOL has maintained vision of training core ODL manpower in West African sub-region, as it aims to become a Centre of Excellence in the development of ODL international best practices in this part of the world
