Port Harcourt Study Centre hosts students to SIWES orientation

The management of Port Harcourt Study Centre, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, led by the centre director, Prof. Eserinune McCarty Mojaye, on Thursday, hosted students of the centre to Students' Industrial Work Experience (SIWES) orientation exercise.

Mojaye, who received the SIWES officials accorded them a warm welcome and encouraged students to take the scheme seriously as SIWES has become part and parcel of the Nigerian higher education curriculum.

The event, which drew participation among 300 Level and 400 Level students of the centre, had Mr. Chika Kpaku, representative of the Area Manager, ITF, Rumuokwuta Area Office, Port Harcourt, and Mrs. Chimobi Nebolisa, SIWES Officer, as resource persons.

The focus of discussion at the orientation exercise was on how SIWES works and the benefits of the scheme to participating students.

Also in attendance at the event were Mr. Anthony Madu Odeigah, A. O. 1 and Mrs. Onisojikume Ngozi Gbaka, who stood in for the centre's SIWES desk officer, Mrs. Ogochukwu Eya Eze.
