Bauchi centre staff get hepatitis test, vaccine


A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) known as Centre for Disease and Health Control (CDHC), has organised hepatitis test and administer vaccine for the staff of Bauchi Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).

The North-east Field Coordinator of the NGO, which is affiliated to United Nations Agency for International Development, Raymond Godwin Okoh, told the NOUN News correspondent that the test would afford the people the opportunity and privilege to know their status.

McCarthy centre harps on students’ healthy lifestyle


The Director, McCarthy Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof. Rotimi Ogidan, has implored students in the centre to adopt a healthy lifestyle through routine medical check-ups.

Ogidan said this while delivering an opening speech at a one-day community outreach organised by the Nursing Science students (BNS), McCarthy Study Centre, which was held on  Thursday, 13 January, 2022.

According to him, a healthy living is very imperative, adding that good environmental factor also contributes to healthy living.

NOUN Council member visits Maiduguri Study Centre


The management and staff of Maiduguri Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), have played host to one of the Governing Council members, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Badeiri, who paid a working visit to the centre.

The purpose of the visit, according to Badeiri, was to conduct on-the-spot assessment on the facilities and the physical structures of the centre, appraise the situation at the centre and receive complains with a view to finding areas of improvement.

South-west Project Moderation and Defence kicks-off in Lagos


The 2021_1 Project Moderation and Defence of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), South-west region, has commenced at the Lagos Office.

The exercise, which started on Tuesday, 11 January 2022, is being handled by both internal and external moderators for postgraduate candidates.

Moderations from Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) students and defence for Master’s dissertations in various faculties will also take place during the exercise.

Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu at the Azare town of Bauchi State.

Njidda monitors e-Exams at Maiduguri, Damaturu study centres


The Dean, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Prof. Ahmed Amin Njidda, has visited the Maiduguri and Damaturu study centres where he commended the frictionless process and the orderly conduct of the ongoing 2021_2 e-examination.

While at Maiduguri, the dean was received by the centre director, Dr. Muhammad Yahaya, who took him round to the  halls where he monitored the conduct and the general administration of the ongoing examination.

Njidda was highly impressed with the smooth conduct of the examination and described it as perfect, orderly and well organised.

Quality Assurance, core to ODL - NOUN VC


The Vice-Chancellor, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof. Olufemi Peters, has said that quality assurance remains an integral part of Open and Distance Learning (ODL).

Peters stated this during a 3-day workshop organised by National Open University of Nigeria- Regional Training and Research Institute for Distance and Open Learning (NOUN-RETRIDOL) in collaboration with Commonwealth of Learning (COL) held on the 14th - 16th of December, 2021 in Abuja.
