ACETEL IT staff in Ota for High Performance Computing training

The African Centre of Excellence on Technology Enhanced Learning (ACETEL), has sent Information Technology (IT) staff from the centre to a 2-week High Performance Computing Workshop at the Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State.

The training, with the theme: Advanced High Performance Computing, which started on Monday, March 27, 2023 was organised by the Covenant Applied Informatics and Communication Africa Centre of Excellence (CApIC-ACE) in partnership with the National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology (INRIA), Digital Science and Technology Network (DSTN) and supported by the ACE  partner and funded by the Agence Francaise de Developpement (AFD).

The Director, ACETEL, Prof. Grace Jokthan, who joined the training virtually, in her goodwill message, expressed gladness over the support the organisers of the workshop have shown the ACETEL staff members in attendance and also for accommodating them.

She said all ACETEL team members that are attending the workshop whether physically or virtually, will take advantage and positive use of the training.

The director expressed hope that staffers who are attending the workshop will have a train the trainer workshop when they return, in order to pass the knowledge they have gained to other members of the team.

Some of the participants from ACETEL physically attending the workshop in Ota are: Mahmoud Ahmed, Ismaila Idris, Eneche Benjamin, Oka Emmanuel, Olatunji Folami, Muttaka Gujungu, Gbenga Oworu, while the ACETEL director, Prof. Grace Jokthan, Director, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Dr. Greg Onwodi, Udochukwu Nwankwo, Grace Egenti and Abdulgaffer Bello are attending virtually.
