SIWES: Confluence Cable Network accedes to engage NOUN students


The Managing Director, Confluence Cable Network, Grace FM (95.5) Lokoja, Kogi State, Mr. Simbabi Ogbeha has agreed to accept the National Open University of Nigeria’s (NOUN) Mass Communication students from the Lokoja Study Centre for their Students Industrial Work Experience (SIWES).

Ogbeha stated this during an advocacy visit led by the Director, Lokoja Study Centre, Dr. Godwin Alhassan to his office in Lokoja on the 18th of October, 2021.

South-west Incubation Centre holds Business Plan training for students


The South-west Incubation Centre has held a sensitisation exercise to help students put together a winning Business Plan as the individual presentation looms large.

The virtual event was organised by the coordinator of the centre, Dr. Sam Awolumate and staff at the Lagos Office on the 13 October, 2021 in Lagos.

NUC Deputy Executive Secretary to present RETRIDOL October lecture


The Regional Training & Research Institute for Distance and Open Learning (RETRIDOL), National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), has concluded arrangements for the October edition of Open and Distance Learning (ODL) monthly discourse.

In a press release signed by the Director, RETRIDOL, Prof. Patrick Eya, this month’s lecture is billed to hold on October 18th, 2021.

Students undertake EHS practical in Lagos


Students of the Department of Environmental Health Science (EHS), Faculty of Health Sciences of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) have undergone science laboratory practical sessions at the university’s Lagos office.

The two sessions on General Microbiology and Biochemistry, preceded by a 3-day training, were coordinated by the Head of the Department, Dr. Oluremi Saliu and Mr. Eya Chukwunons.

Enugu Study Centre hosts laboratory practical for South-east students


The Faculty of Sciences, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), has, on Tuesday 12 October, 2021, commenced the 2021 _2 laboratory practical exercise for the South-east geopolitical region at Enugu Study Centre.

The exercise, which is scheduled to last for 2 weeks at the centre, gathered students from Enugu, Abakaliki and Awka Study Centres.

 According to the Director of Research Administration, Prof. Joseph Omada, the science practical is mandatory for all students undertaking science courses without which graduation will be elusive.
