Following the State Executive Council meeting held on the 19th of January, 2021, the Ondo State Government has approved the election of Prof. Abdur-Raheem Adejoro as the new Alafin of Afin-Akoko Community in the State.

He ascended the throne after the demise of Oba Dirisu Olohuntegbe in 2006.

Adejoro is the study centre director, Ado-Ekiti Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).

He started his career as a Graduate Assistant in the College of Education Ikere-Ekiti in 1994 from where he progressed over the years, spanning more than two decades of imparting knowledge.

In a brief chat with the NOUN News, the director, whose coronation ceremony is slated to hold at his home town, Afin-Akoko on Saturday, 23rd of July, 2021, attributed this elevation to the dint of hard work and grace of God.

Consequently, the Professor would henceforth be addressed officially as Oba Alhaji Prof. Abdur-Raheem Adejoro Mustapha Akeugbade, Asoroowo II, the Alafin of Afin-Akoko.
