Alake of Egbaland commends NOUN for graduating 13 inmates in Abeokuta

The Alake of England, HRM Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, has said the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) deserves commendation for graduating 13 inmates recently at the Abeokuta Correctional Facility, Ogun State.

The Royal Father, Oba Gbadebo, stated this when he welcomed the Abeokuta Study Centre management led by the director, Dr. Oyekule Adegboyega, who paid him a visit at his place.

Oba Gbadebo acknowledged that education is the key to national development, and therefore, pledged his support to NOUN in creating more study centers in the state. 

He also gave his commitment in motivating other kings towards creating more study centres specifically in Ota and Ifo Local Government Areas of the state.

Earlier, Dr. Adegboyega had said that they were at the palace to formally introduce himself and the university as well as solicit support and royal blessings from the royal father for the progress of the centre. 

While at the palace, the director expressed his appreciation to the monarch for the opportunity granted to his team and extended warm felicitation of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Femi Peters, to the Oba.

The director sensitised his audience on the modus operandi of the institution, urging the chiefs seeking further education and  their wards to enroll for their choice of programmes.

Present at the visit were High Chiefs including Chief Alani Bankole, Prof. Olufemi Balogun, former Vice -Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, who received the visiting NOUN team.
