
The Africa Union (AU), National Open University of Nigeria Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (NOUN-ACTU), and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) will hold a joint celebration of the 2025 African Union Anti-Corruption Day.
The event will be commemorated under the theme “Effective Whistle-blower Protection Mechanism: A Critical Tool in the Fight Against Corruption.”
It is slated to hold on Friday, July 11, 2025, by 10.a.m. at the University Central Library, Gabriel Afolabi Building, 3rd floor, NOUN headquarters, Jabi, Abuja.
The AU Anti-Corruption Day is commemorated annually on the 11th of July as designated by African Union through the adoption of the AU Convention on Preventing and Combating Corruption in recognition of the massive progress in the war against corruption on the African Continent and the need to reflect on the approaches to end the scourge.
As part of activities to mark the 2025 AU Anti-Corruption Day, there will be a panel discussion on the theme of this year’s event with Prof. Ganiyat Adesina-Uthman, Director, Advancement and Linkages, NOUN, as the moderator and Prof. Samuel Iroye of NOUN’s Faculty of Social Sciences as one of the panelists, among others.
However, Mrs. Doris Nzenwa, Head/Chair, NOUN-ACTU is going to be the host while Prof. Olufemi Peters, Vice-Chancellor, NOUN is the Chief Host at the event.
