New generator for Badagry

The Badagry Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), has taken delivery of a 60KV Marapco power generator from the university management.

The purchase and supply of the generator was aimed at improving and providing an uninterrupted source of power at the centre for an improved academic activities.

It may be recalled that  the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Peters, in September 2023, while on a working visit to the centre, promised a power generator to mitigate the incessant outrage which was threatening the smooth administration of academic activities at the centre.

The Vice-Chancellor registered his intention of giving the centre a facelift and providing it with all the necessary facilities required for hitch free operations.

"The generator will serve as an alternative power supply during the intermittent power outage of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) in that area," he said.

The centre director, Dr. Julius Paul Eyanuku, thanked the Vice-Chancellor for the prompt action, which according to him, will improve both academic activities and staff comfort at the centre.
