Benin centre matriculation ceremony

Freshmen of Benin Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Benin City, Edo State, on Friday, October 21, 2023, relished an awesome experience as they celebrated their academic initiation into NOUN as bona fide members of the university community.

After partaking of the virtually administered oath-taking ceremony at the auditorium of the centre, the matriculated students gathered at the general pavilion with family and friends to have a swell time.

The centre director, Dr. Akeem Disu, who flagged off the celebration, welcomed the new students into the institution and encouraged them to be committed to their academic pursuits.

Disu emphasised the importance of students doing their TMAs themselves.

He explained that doing TMAs themselves is an effective way to identify blind spots and easily refer back to the course materials for better understanding.

The director added that his office remains open always for all students should they have any complaints or enquiries.

He, thereafter, declared the event open and merriment commenced.
