The Coordinator, South-east conference marking zone, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof.  Sami Michael Ayodele, has underscored the credibility of the 2024_1 conference marking exercise.

He disclosed this on Tuesday, 11th June 2024, while interacting with the NOUN News correspondent in Enugu State during the 2024_1 conference marking of the South-east zone.

Ayodele said the credibility was premised by the creams of matured and experienced retired professors and senior lecturers who were involved in the exercise.

"Recall that the subject officers were asked to see the examiners/markers as customers the university management engages regularly during the conference marking and hence the need to handle or treat them maturely and friendly," Ayodele said.

He commended the subject officers for their firmness as well as living up to the expectation of handling the examiners friendly.

The coordinator expressed satisfaction with majority of the markers who were able to meet up with the stipulated deadline for submission of scripts.

Ayodele thanked the Centre Director, Prof. Charity Okonkwo, for making the environment conducive and providing infrastructures for the smooth exercise.

On the part of the centre's staff, Ayodele said they were at their best while discharging their duties, adding that the staff were thorough and meticulous while receiving and checking scripts towards ensuring that scripts given to the examiners tally with the collation scripts.

The coordinator, who is also the Director, Research Administration of the university, applauded the sheer commitments of the representatives of Directorate of Exams and Assessment, Mr. Adebayo Kayode and Mrs. Ndubuisi Juliana, for their administrative support as well as the representatives of the Directorate of Management Information Systems, Mr. Andekin Ande and Akinnibosun Victor Abayomi, for their technical support.

He, however, noted the occurrences of low server uploading at the beginning of the exercise.
