College provost pledges partnership with Fugar Community Study Centre

The Provost, Federal College of Forest Resources Management (FCFRM), Fugar, Edo State, Dr. Benson Osikabor, has promised to partner with the management of Fugar Community Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Fugar, Edo State, to enhance the realisation of the mutual goals of the two federal institutions.

Osikabor expressed this commitment when the advocacy train of Fugar Community Study Centre paid him a visit at the college recently.

The provost, who noted with elation that the similarities in the mission and objectives of his college and that of Fugar Community Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria included the offering of educational services to the immediate community and the nation in general, pledged to work together with management of Fugar Community Study Centre to advance the realisation of those goals.

Osikabor was joyful that the Study Centre provides an opportunity for his staff to enhance their educational qualifications in view of the proximity of the study centre to his college. He assured that he would encourage all his staff to take full advantage of the programmes of the National Open University of Nigeria.

Earlier, the director, Fugar Community Study Centre, Prof. Jonathan E. Aliede, who led his centre’s advocacy team on the enlightenment campaign, thanked Osikabor for his zeal and diligence in laying the foundation of the college and expressed the willingness of the management of Fugar Community Study Centre to assist the college in improving the human capacity of his staff in order to maximise their potentials and enhance quality service delivery.

The college provost later led the NOUN delegation on facility tour of the college. The tour included visits to the various departments and sections of the college as well as their laboratories, classrooms, farms, hatcheries and nurseries.

The advocacy campaign also featured pasting of posters and distribution of handbills within Fugar Community and other surrounding areas of Edo North Senatorial Zone of the state.
