The sponsor of the Fagge and Kwachiri Community Study Centres in Kano State and member Federal House of Representative, Hon. Aminu Sulaiman Goro, has played host to the management two centres on courtesy visit.
Goro who is the Chairman, House Committee on Tertiary Institutions, was the brain behind the establishment and equipping of the two community study centre in his federal constituency in 2021.
The Centre Overseer, Dr. Aliyu Alasan Ibrahim led the centre representatives Amir Salisu Hamza and Sagir Bawa of Fagge and Kwaciri, respectively, to the lawmaker.
Speaking during the visit, Ibrahim thanked the honorable member for his foresight in the educational development of his community and the country at large.
He expressed that both centres are tremendously doing well in terms of sensitisation of the community about their existence, and the opportunities that await them to leverage on.
On the issue of enrolment, the overseer stated that level is growing in geometric progression with more than 500 students in Fagge alone and Kwachiri also coming up all within a year of their existence.
Ibrahim acknowledged that more and more people are trooping in numbers, seeking for admission and further enquiries about the university on daily basis.
He informed the lawmaker that the centres have so far successfully conducted three examinations, adding that they have intensified advocacy campaigns to a number stakeholders, organisations and institutions.
The overseer, however, stated that despite the numerous achievements recorded by the two centres, they are still being faced by a number of challenges and appealed to the member for his intervention in the areas of structure, computers and utility vehicles.
Responding, Hon. Goro promised to support the centres with all that he could to ensure that they become the best.
He commended the management of the university for their efforts in ensuring the sustainability of the centres.
The lawmaker tasked the staff to put in extra efforts in order to lift their centres to higher levels.
