FRSC Ikom visit

The management of Ikom Community Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Ikom, Cross River State, on Wednesday 15 September, 2021 played guests to the Ikom Unit Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) on advocacy visit.

Centre director, Dr. Edwin Bassey, who led the NOUN delegation, explained that he was at the commission to sensitise the officers and men of the command on the programmes and operations of the university as an Open and Distance Learning (ODL) institution, and their suitability for persons in fulltime services such as the commission’s personnel.

The unit commander, Mrs. Rebecca Machie, who received Bassey and his team, expressed joy over the decision of the management of the university to include her command in the list of its advocacy tour visits.

Machie promised to encourage her officers and men to enroll at the university to upgrade their academic statuses and qualifications, adding that education is a venture that people should embrace throughout their lifetime.

At the end of the interaction, the director presented to the unit commander customised NOUN souvenirs and advocacy flyers.
