NICC takes e-ticketing awareness campaign to NOUN staff

The National Open University of Nigeria Information and Call Centre (NICC) has sensitised staff of the institution on  e- ticketing system.

The sensitisation programme was held on the 9th of October, 2023 at the University's headquarters in Jabi-Abuja.

Speaking at the event, Head of the unit, Wosilatu Ainodion, said the sensitization was to educate staff and students  of the university about the e- ticketing platform.

"This is our first move. We will also take this awareness and  sensitization to study centres to intimate staff and students on the revolutionary e- ticketing," she said.

It would be recalled that the Vice-Chancellor of NOUN, Prof.Olufemi Peters, during the official launch of e- ticketing on 7th, June 2023, said e-ticketing platform was put in place as an important learner support to address queries on issues affecting students. 

The awareness and sensitization  campaign was taken to different offices in the Headquarters, including that of the Vice-Chancellor,l,  the registrar's office, DVC Academic, DVC TIR, directorates, faculties, among others.

While addressing the team, the Vice Chancellor, represented by DVC administration, Prof Isaac Butswat, appreciated the team lead and her staff for intimating the NOUN community of the e-ticketing system. 

He further urged them to work assiduously at ensuring that students' challenges, enquiries are addressed promptly. 

"I encourage you to be poised for the future that lies ahead as well as prepare for a new era in NOUN's technological landscape," he said.

Other members of NOUN  management, who witnessed the event, also applauded the unit for their proactive approach and ingenuity in educating the NOUN community and ensuring that they are well informed.

The Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS), Prof. Sonie  Oniye, also highlighted that e- ticketing system has the capacity to simplify postgraduate admissions   and related processes so as to make the academic journey for NOUN PGD students more seamless. 

Meanwhile, the campaign not only showcased e-ticketing but also    marked a  notable stride towards increased interconnectivity, paving  the way for technologically driven future for NOUN.
