The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), the Technical Working Group Projects Office, and other supporting institutions have been tasked to work out modalities for the establishment of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics Centre in Nigeria.
They were inaugurated as the Project Implementation Committee (PIC) to drive the establishment of a flagship Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Centre.
According to the DBI’s Head of Public Affairs, Soji Ezekiel Fagbemi, the inauguration ceremony took place at the institute’s headquarters in Abuja, led by its President/CEO, Daser David.
The committee has been tasked with developing an executive summary, operational roadmap, and action plan within four weeks.
It will also coordinate the upcoming groundbreaking event and fundraising engagements, the statement said.
Mr. David, the statement said, emphasised the importance of digital skills for youth empowerment: “We will all be sitting on a time bomb if we fail to train our youths."
