NOUN DVC among witnesses at BUK's 39th Convocation Ceremony

The Deputy Vice- Chancellor, Technology Innovation and Research (TIR) of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof. Godwin Akper, was among notable invited guests who attended the 39th Convocation Ceremony of the Bayero University, Kano (BUK).

Akper represented the university's Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Peters, at the ceremony held at the university campus in Kano.

The event, which took place on February 14-15, 2025, was a celebration of academic achievement, with 4,402 graduates receiving their degrees from eleven faculties. 

The DVC was accompanied by the Acting Centre Director, Kano Study Centre, Mr. Mudassir A. Ishaq.

As part of the convocation activities, Prof. Akper attended the convocation lecture, which was delivered by Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, the Executive Vice- Chairman and CEO of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) with the theme "Innovation and Entrepreneurship: A Pathway to National Development."

On the convocation ceremony day, Akper presented a goodwill message on behalf of the NOUN Vice-Chancellor, congratulating the graduates and emphasising the importance of mutual relationships between institutions. 

The BUK Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sagir Adamu Abbas, expressed appreciation for NOUN's support and prayed for continued collaboration between the two universities.

The convocation ceremony was a colorful celebration of academic achievement, with graduates from various faculties receiving their degrees. 

The event marked a significant milestone in the academic journey of the graduates, and BUK's commitment to excellence in education, research, and community services.
