The Vice-Chancellor, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof. Olufemi Peters has implored the Association of Bursars of Nigerian universities (ABNU) to improve the financial management in Nigerian universities.

Peters stated this recently in his opening address at the Association's Annual General Meeting (AGM), held at the headquarters of NOUN), Abuja.

He said part of the reasons they were all gathered was to share experience, learn from one another and exchange views about what goes on in their different universities.

"The reason is simply because, in our own type of teaching or system of university, we called something experiential learning, meaning you will not only learn from the knowledge that you have acquired, but you also learn from the knowledge that you shared within some people who are in the same business with you.

"And so I want to implore you that you use your forum as an avenue to improve the financial management of the various universities that you are managing.

"In terms of financial management, I  want you to know that NOUN has been blessed to have Nasiru Marafa as our Bursar and we don't have the usual hiccups between Bursars and Vice-Chancellors," he added.

The vice Chancellor further thanked ABNU for choosing NOUN as venue for the Association AGM.
