NOUNAA donates solar street light to Uyo Centre

The National Open University of Nigeria Alumni Association (NOUNAA), Akwa Ibom State Chapter, on Thursday, September 4, 2025, donated three units of solar street light to Uyo Study Centre of the institution in the state

The president of the association, Mrs. Glory Gideon, while presenting the solar lights to the management of Uyo Study Centre, explained that the donation was aimed at enhancing visibility within the premises at nigh.

She said the gesture will also strengthen security and improve the security unit in safeguarding properties and other facilities of the centre. 

The president pledged that additional units of the solar light system would be provided to the centre in the near future.

Receiving the items on behalf of the management of the centre, the Principal Assistant Registrar of the study centre, Mr. Michael Mkpang, who represented the Centre Director, Associate Professor Edwin Bassey, 

commended the president and the entire executive members of NOUNAA, Akwa Ibom State Chapter "for this thoughtful initiative.”

He said the initiative “will greatly assist the security team in carrying out their duties more effectively especially at night."

Mkpang prayed for the continued growth of the association, good health of its members, and increased prosperity as a reward for extending such a commendable act of generosity to the study centre.
