
As part of its statutory responsibility of ensuring quality assurance among the comity of higher institutions, a team of the National Universities Commission (NUC) on Thursday, October 16, 2025 visited Enugu Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) for the accreditation of academic programmes.
The team, led by Prof. Daniel Oberevbie, was accompanied by Prof. Kabir Bello Durunguwa, Prof. Muhammed Kabir Isa and NUC representative, Mr. Ewah Patrick, was received by the Centre Director, Prof. Charity Akuadi Okonkwo, her centre staff, Head of Department, Political Science, Dr. Mathew Ogwuche, Deputy Registrar, DAP, Mrs. Florence Okeke, Deputy Director, Protocol and Mr. Don- Onu Emeka.
The team visited the exam hall, e-exam hall, Guidance and Counselling Unit, Store, Information, Advice and Guidance Unit, and expressed satisfaction about their interactions with the respective unit heads.

At the e-library, the Assistant Librarian, Mr. Jude Sunday Onuh, demonstrated the accessibility of information resources using the database to the excitement of the team, who also commended the currency of textbooks and journals at the physical library.
Equally, the centre's ICT System Analyst, Mr. Absalom Anum, skillfully demonstrated how to access e-ticketing, e-learn and the students portal to the visiting team.
Prof. Oberevbie said that the essence of accreditation was to bring improvements at the centre.
They were at the Enugu Centre for academic programmes seeking accreditation in the Faculty of Social Sciences.
The centre was hailed by the team for its general neatness as well as the cleanliness of the convenience.
