The pupils of the National Open University of Nigeria's Staff School (NSS), Kaduna, have visited College of Agriculture and Animal Science, Mando, Kaduna, on field trip excursion.
Speaking with NOUN News at the college during the visit, the team leader, Mr. Richard Tanko, disclosed that the main objective of the trip was to enhance the pupils' learning capabilities.
The visit, he added, would also provide them with insight outside the classroom settings, thereby providing a breakthrough for students' educational experience and engaging them with professionals in the field.

During the visit, they were taken round different departments in the college, with detailed explanation of various sections.
According to Tanko, the students have learned many things about agriculture and its inputs to the economy of the nation at large.
Some of the departments the pupils visited were Poultry, Agricultural Machinery, Goattery, Piggery, Diary, Rabbittery and Fishery.

Reacting to the experience, a Primary 3 pupil, Khadija, stated that she was delighted with the visit because she had physical experience with animals like pig, goats, fish in the pond, and a host of other animals.
She argued that such animals were only seen hitherto in cartoon films, but hoped to come back next year for more one-on-one encounters.
