Examination begins with integrity, preparation and punctuality - Okonkwo

The Director, Enugu Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria(NOUN), Prof. Charity Akuadi Okonkwo, has said that ongoing examination has begun with integrity, preparation and punctuality.

She disclosed this while declaring the 2025_2 students orientation and exams briefing open, on Friday, October 17, 2025 at the centre.

While emphasising the need for promptness and punctuality during the exams, Okonkwo also identified Pen-on-paper ( Pop) and Tutor Marked Assignments (TMA) as the two types of examinations.

The director added that missing of any one would lead to incomplete result.

The Professor of Measurement and Evaluation emphatically stated that certificates are awarded to students who are found worthy both in character and learning, advising them to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations guiding the administration and conduct of the examinations.

The Centre's Principal Assistant Registrar (PAR), Mr. Mathew Egede, sensitised them about the operations and activities of the institution as an Open and Distance Learning (ODL) leveraging on digital technology.

He admonished them to acquaint themselves with their respective desk officers as there are highly dedicated and well-trained staff designated to serve them better.

Equally, the Centre's ICT System Analyst, Mr. Absalom Anum, demonstrated how to access e-ticketing, e-learn and the students portal.

The Centre's Senior Librarian, Mrs. Grace Elem, said that library is the lifewire of any institution and encouraged students to make use of the library as there are current textbooks and journals as well as e-resources that can compliment  their course materials and aid their research work.

Staff who also spoke during the exercise were: the Coordinator, South -east Incubation Zone, Associate Prof. Loveth Ekwueme, the Chief Confidential Secretary, Mrs. Faustina Chikeleze, the Senior Counsellor, Mrs. Ngozi Ofor-Nwachukwu, the Students Counsellor I, Mrs. Ladi Benedict Ojonugwa.

Others included the Senior Assistant Registrar (SAR), Mr. Henry Chukwuma Okpara, the Store officerI, Mr. Morah Ikechukwu, the Chief Accountant, Mrs. Ifeoma Osoka and the Centre's Technologist, Mrs. Blessing Obianujunwa Celestine.

Students took turns to ask questions on grey areas, while the centre management provided the corresponding answers and the exercise ended smoothly with an impressive attendance.
