The Dean of Student Affairs, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Professor Ernest O. Ugbejeh, on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, interacted with recently nominated members of the newly constituted NOUN Students’ Consultative Forum (NSCF) at the Port Harcourt Study Centre, Rivers State.
Prof. Ugbejeh, who was warmly received by the Centre Director, Dr. Theresa Ucheoma Ettu, said the visit was aimed at engaging the student representatives and sensitising them on the structure, functions and mode of operation of the NSCF, as well as their responsibilities as representatives.
He explained that the forum would be established at all NOUN Study Centres as part of the university’s efforts to strengthen student representation, engagement and communication.
According to him, the initiative, approved by the University Management, is designed to provide a formal platform through which students can engage with Study Centre administrations and the Deanship of Student Affairs on issues affecting their academic experience and welfare.
He added that the NSCF would serve as the official consultative and representative body for students at the Study Centre level, thereby promoting constructive dialogue between students and university authorities.
It would be recalled that the university recently approved the constitution of the NSCF across all 128 Study Centres nationwide to enhance student-management interaction and improve the overall learning and welfare experience of students.
