CEMBA/CEMPA spreads advocacy to public sectors, others

The National Open University of Nigeria's (NOUN's) Commonwealth Executive MBA (CEMBA) and Commonwealth Executive MPA (CEMPA)on Monday, May 15th, 2023, through Friday, May 19th, 2023, has taken its advocacy campaign to key public sector organisations and organised private sectors in Abuja metropolis.

The sectors include Nigeria Immigration Services, Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), Debt Management Office (DMO), Office of the Auditor General of the Federation, Deposit Money Banks, and Federal Inland Revenue Service.

Other organisations visited were Federal Secretariat for various ministries and parastatals including the Office of the Head of Service, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Nigerian Law Reforms Commission.

In a memo dated 6th June, 2023 and titled, ‘’Report of a week-long Advocacy Campaign for CEMBA/CEMPA’’ and signed by the coordinator and team lead, Associate Professor Johnson I. Okoh, stated that the main thrust of the advocacy campaign was to create awareness of the programmes and encourage potential students to apply so as to increase students enrolment.

According to Okoh, the five-day advocacy campaign yielded several positive outcomes ranging from increased awareness about the executive programme, addressing misconceptions about NOUN, cross marketing of other university programmes, and stakeholders engagement among others.

Meanwhile, the advocacy team led by the coordinator of CEMBA/CEMPA Unit, also had members of staff of the Department of Public Administration and Business Administration in attendance.
