CHRD celebrates deputy bursar as she bags PhD

The Management and staff of the National Open University of Nigeria's Centre for Human Resource Development (NOUN CHRD) has celebrated the Deputy Bursar, Mrs. Mary Aimuyedo following her successful completion of doctorate degree in accounting.

Aimuyedo (PhD), who is the centre’s Head of Account Unit, was last week among the graduates of the School of of Postgraduate Studies, Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna.

Speaking during the occasion, the CHRD director, Dr. Aminu Umar, congratulated Aimuyedo for the remarkable achievement in academic field.

Umar, while urging her to learn more as bagging a doctorate degree is the beginning of learning, also called on her to independently develop knowledge and construct criticism that will proffer solutions to emerging phenomenon in both academic and conventional environment.

He added that doctorate (PhD) degree is a benchmark entry requirement for academicians in NOUN and any other reputable university in the country. "Therefore you are a potential academic tutor in the university."  

The director uphold that Aimuyedo is a model of inspiration for other staff of the university community and urged them to emulate her, adding that this is an added value to the university community and  to her personal accomplishments.

In her speech, the celebrant thanked the management and staff of the centre for celebrating her success, stressing that the recorded success was not hers alone but for the university and the country as whole. 

She said her research investigated the industrial sector of the nation to examine whether their corporate characteristics has any effect on their ability to report the impact of their activities whether negative or positive.

Well wishers from some study centres and Faculty of Agricultural Sciences graced the occasion.
