The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) stands to gain a lot of visibility, as it will gain in terms of university ranking due to my high research output per year, an academician, Dr. Etido Patrick Inyang, has said.
Dr. Inyang, an academic staff with the Department of Physics, Faculty of Sciences, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), bagged the Best Researcher Award, sponsored by the The SCIENCEFATHER, an international research award on Science, Health and Engineering, based in India.
The award, which is held in India annually, is for the best article published in Theoretical Physics, a peer-reviewed journal indexed in Scopus and Web of Science with high visibility and impact factor.
Speaking on the research topic that earned him the award, Inyang in a chat with NOUN News, said “My research topic was: “Energy Spectra and Expectation Values of Selected Diatomic Molecules through the solutions of Klein – Gordon Equation with Eckart – Hellmann potential model,’’which cuts across Nuclear and Particle Physics.
According to him, “I have also published many articles that are indexed in SCI Journals. I am a reviewer of many journals.”
He also stated that his department will also gain from his award as it will help during accreditation exercise, among others.
In his response to the award, the recipient said “I dedicate this award to God Almighty, who is the source of my strength and wisdom. To my late Mother, to my collaborators and to NOUN Community.’’
Inyang, who holds Masters of Science in Nuclear Physics and PhD degree in Theoretical Physics, joined NOUN in the year 2020.
In his advice to his colleagues, he said “We should all strive to publish research output in a peer- reviewed journal indexed in Scopus and Web of Science with good impact factor for visibility and also it helps in university ranking.’’
Meanwhile, SCIENCEFATHER Award is a purely merit – based award platform. The award is based on the researcher’s latest publication quality of paper, novelty and past performance.
