A team from the headquarters of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), has visited the Jos Study Centre for the conduct of a mock accreditation exercise.

The team under the leadership of Prof. Gregory Okagbare, Director, Academic Planning, was in Jos for the purpose of test-running the preparedness of the centre in hosting the National Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation exercise scheduled to hold later this year.

On arrival at the centre, the 3-man team was received by the Acting Centre Director, Mr. Bulama Samson Mshelia and other staff of the centre.

The mock accreditation exercise centred on two programmes in the Faculty of Management Sciences, Department of Financial Studies, which are: B.Sc Accounting as well as B.Sc Banking and Finance.

Mshelia led the team on a tour of the centre's physical facilities where they assessed the facilities, and expressed satisfaction over what they met on ground.

Apart from the programmes, numbers of both teaching and non-teaching staff members, students’ files and other facilities were assessed, in which a report would be submitted to the university management.

The team later addressed the centre’s staffers, and urged them to be diligent in the discharge of their duties.

Other members of the visiting were Prof. Johnson Okoh, the Head of Department of Financial Studies and Mr. Alhamdu Usman, a Principal Assistant Registrar.
