The director, Port Harcourt Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Dr. Nnenna Nancy Chukwuma, has posited that the National Open University of Nigeria has revolutionised tertiary education in Nigeria.

Chukwuma made this assertion during a live phone-in programme, _Let's Talk About It_, on Treasure 98.5 FM, a subsidiary of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Monday, December 19, 2022.

The centre director, who has been a regular guest on the programme, explained that the affordability and flexibility of NOUN academic programmes which afford learners an opportunity to study at their own pace and wherever they are, has brought a revolution to Nigeria's tertiary education system.

Chukwuma, while fielding sundry questions from numerous callers explained that the flexibility of NOUN programmes enabled learners to enroll in one part of the country and continue the programme seamlessly at another part of the country without systemic complications or loss of credit hours.

She also revealed that while the university was working hard to recommence admission into undergraduate Law programme, the approval of the National Universities Commission (NUC) has been secured for the mounting of postgraduate Law programmes effective 2023 academic session.

Chukwuma urged the listening public to take advantage of what the university offers to improve their academic status.

It would be recalled that Chukwuma, in the early days of her assumption of office, had struck a deal with the management of FRCN to use the radio station for the university's advocacy campaigns free of charge at the study centre's convenience.

Accompanying Chukwuma during the advocacy programme was the deputy director, Media & Publicity and regional media officer, South-south, NOUN, Joel Nkanta.
