The Management of Owerri Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), has organised a 1-day in-house capacity building workshop for all desk officers representing the eight faculties of the institution at the centre in Imo State.

The Director, Associate Professor Juliana Ndunagu, while declaring the event open, said the training was aimed at enlightening and acquainting them with adequate information that can be useful and enhance their day-to-day handling and interface with students.

She added that the exercise was designed to sharpen their administrative skills towards achieving efficient and robust service delivery.

Ndunagu charged them to avail themselves with the opportunity as well as giving the exercise maximum attention it deserves.

Obinna Anyaogu, the centre's Chief System Analyst and Desk Officer for the Faculty of Sciences, extensively grilled and exposed them with the university's various websites so they can, in-turn, direct students to the genuine websites for their academic activities.

Anyaogu, while making his presentation, demonstrated to the participants the methodology of accessing the online time-table, courses for facilitation, students portal registration, among others.

Mrs. Opara Amara, the Senior Assistant Registrar (SAR), in her vote of thanks, expressed gratitude to the centre director for organising the workshop, which she described as timely and enlightening.

She prayed that the training would be a continuous exercise and enjoined the recipients to put all that they have learnt into practice.
