Runde appointed member ACDE Research Committee

The Executive Board, African Council for Distance Education (ACDE), has approved the appointment of Dr. Musa Runde as member of the ACDE Research Committee alongside other nine persons across the globe.

This was contained in a letter dated July 8, 2022 and signed by the ACDE President and Consulting President, Laweh Open University of Ghana, Prof. Goski Alabi.

“The African Council for Distance Education Executive Board in their 39th board meeting resolved to establish the ACDE Research Committee. They tasked Vice-Chancellors/Rectors/Directors/Generals/Executive Directors of ACDE member institutions to nominate research contact persons from their various universities to join ACDE Research Committee.

"In view of this, you were nominated to join this committee from your institution," the letter stated.

It added that "On behalf of the ACDE, I am pleased to appoint you as a member of the ACDE Research Committee."

The appointment letter titled: ‘’Re-Appointment to the ACDE Research Committee,” also explained that “The ACDE Research Committee is the principal advisory committee to the ACDE Executive Director and working closely with the ACDE Director for Technical Committee on Collaboration (TCC) on research activities."

In addition, it also stated that “The role of the research committee will include: Providing strategic advice on the implementation of the strategic plan by identifying strategies that support inclusive research, come up with the ACDE research plan with regards to ACDE’s mission, goals and priorities among others."

Runde, until this appointment, was on posting as a research fellow at the Directorate of Research and Administration and a staff in the Faculty of Sciences, Department of Chemistry, NOUN.
