NOUN's team storms Senegal for DSTN symposium


About six staff of the National Open University of Nigeria(NOUN) will be participating at the Digital Science and Technology Network (DSTN) symposium in Senegal.

The symposium, which is slated to hold from 6th-12th of December, 2021, is aimed  at bringing together the participating African Centre of Excellence (ACEs), their partners, socio-economic actors and international collaborators, to share experiences as well as train potential entrepreneurs on how to launch their start-ups in Digital Science and Technology.

ACETEL’s 2020/2021_1&2 examinations flag off in four countries


The 2020/2021_1&2 semester examination of 
The World Bank assisted African Centre of Excellence on Technology Enhanced Learning (ACETEL) 
commences on the 6th of December 2021 across four different countries.

The 2nd examination for the 2020/2021 academic session will be held online through METTL Proctoring in
Uganda, Ghana, Gambia and Cameroon, Prof. Grace Jokthan, ACETEL Centre Director has said.

NOUNAA holds elections Saturday


Sequel to the expiration of the tenure of the current executives  of the National Open University of Nigeria Alumni Association (NOUNAA) on 31st December, 2021, the Association's National Executives Council has slated Saturday 4th December, 2021 for new elections into all the executive positions.

This is contained in a memo dated 1st December, 2021 and signed by the deputy director, Directorate of Advancement and Linkages, NOUN, Gbenga Olufemi on behalf of the director.

We‘ll attain World Bank‘s disbursement requirements - VC


The Vice-Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof. Olufemi Peters, has said that the university will continue to support the Africa Centre of Excellence in Technology Enhanced Learning (ACETEL) to realise the World Bank’s disbursement requirement.

Peters stated this while playing host to the ACEs Education Thematic experts from Switzerland who paid him a courtesy visit on Wednesday, 1st December, 2021, at the university’s headquarters in Jabi, Abuja.

Onwubere counsels correctional centre inmates


An associate professor and the immediate past head of the Department of Mass Communication, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Dr. Chidinma Onwubere, has counselled inmates of the Maximum Security Correctional Centre, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to be of good behaviour and embrace their studies as tool towards their reintegration into the society as law abiding citizens of Nigeria.

Onwubere made the charge during her visit to the facility to monitor the ongoing Pen-on-Paper (PoP) examinations last week at the Special Study Centre within the facility.

Nnaka receives Mafiana, Ugbeje, Onwodi in Asaba


The centre director, Asaba Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof. Chibuogwu Nnaka, over the past few days has received eminent personalities from the Headquarters of the university in Abuja.

While Prof. Chiedu Mafiana, dean, School of Postgraduate Studies, and Dr. Ernest Ugbeje, dean, Faculty of Law were at the centre to monitor the ongoing Pen-on-Paper (PoP) examinations, Dr. Greg Onwodi, director, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) was at the centre to inspect and assess the ICT facilities at the centre.

Exam: NOUN’s Dutse centre continues hitch free exercise


As the conduct of the ongoing 2021­_2 Pen-on-Paper (POP) examination continues to gather momentum, Dutse Study Centre has continued its smooth 'sail' under the management of its director, Dr. Aliyu Musa.

The director told NOUN News correspondent that the commendable success wouldn't have been recorded without the efforts of the centre's staff.
