Abeokuta Centre takes advocacy to Artillery Brigade

The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Abeokuta Study Centre, has taken an awareness campaign to the 35 Artillery Brigade, Ogun State on the advantages of enrolling in the university. 

The team led by the Centre Director, Prof. Oyekunle Adegboyega and other senior officers of the centre were received by the Commander, 35 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General G.U. Nwamba and officers of the brigade.

The university don stressed the benefits of ODL mode of learning such as accessibility, cost-effectiveness, flexibility and quality education to the interested ones regardless of age, place and profession.

Adeboyega explained to the officers how they can secure admission into programmes of their choice in the university.

He requested the commander to encourage his staff to enroll in NOUN as 2025_2 admission is ongoing. 

The director added that a change of study centre should not be a barrier, and NOUN certificates are not inferior to those of any conventional university.

Responding, the Commander 35 Artillery Brigade, Ogun state, Brigadier General G.U. Nwanba, appreciated the team's visit and expressed satisfaction with the modus operandi of NOUN.

Nwanba particularly commended the fact that a transfer of personnel will not affect studentship, which maade him to enjoin his officers to further their academic pursuits in the university.

Incidentally, a senior officer of the command who graduated in NOUN attested to the flexibility of the institution as he reported on how he traversed through four study centres before the completion his undergraduate programme as a result of different official postings.
