The Director, Directorate of Examinations and Assessment (DEA), Prof. Olugbenga Ojo, has conducted the moderation of test items set by external professors.

The moderation exercise, which was a brain child of the directorate, was geared towards enhancing the quality and integrity of examinations and questions.

It was also aimed at addressing the gray areas concerning the standard of test items and to
build a robust question bank.

The decision of the directorate to outsource the development of quality test items from external academics across the country, led to the organisation of the training workshop where NOUN's house style of questions setting and essential guidelines were shared with the external examiners.

The activities included reviewing and refining five set of questions, along their corresponding marking guild, cutting across 300-800 levels.

The training took place at the Abuja Model Study Centre from 10 - 11 August, 2023, and recorded a total of 135 professors in attendance.

The director, while responding at the significant milestone after the completion of the exercise, said the success of the training was the collaborative efforts that examplefies NOUN's dedication to maintaining the highest standard of education.

"The achievement not only reinforces NOUN's commitment to academic excellence, but also solidifies its reputation as a centre of learning that values rigorous evaluation and assessment process," Ojo said.

While expressing his delight on the success of the exercise, the director appreciated the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Peters, the heads of department, the director and staff of the Abuja model centre for their unwavering supports to the directorate.
