The outgoing Director of the Bauchi Study Centre, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Dr. Madu Baba Galadima, has bid farewell to members of staff following his transfer to Abuja, highlighting key achievements recorded during his tenure at the centre.
Galadima said his administration recorded significant improvements in infrastructure, including the renovation of facilities and the execution of a solar-inverter project aimed at improving electricity supply at the study centre.
He also noted the significant growth in student enrolment, which rose from about 300 to nearly 1,000 during his tenure.
According to him, efforts were also made to address challenges in staff-student relations, resulting in improved understanding, cooperation and cordiality between the two groups.
The outgoing Director attributed the achievements recorded under his leadership to the cooperation, dedication and commitment of members of staff, stressing that teamwork and harmonious working relationships were central to the progress of the centre.
Galadima urged the staff to remain professional, dedicated and committed to providing quality services to students while upholding the good image and reputation of the university.
He cautioned against any conduct capable of bringing the institution or its personnel into disrepute, emphasising the importance of integrity and responsibility in the discharge of official duties.
He also encouraged staff to sustain cordial relationships with students, describing them as critical stakeholders in the university system whose welfare and satisfaction should remain a priority.
In an emotional farewell, Galadima sought forgiveness from any member of staff he might have offended during his tenure, saying he had also forgiven anyone who might have wronged him.
He expressed appreciation to the staff for their support and cooperation throughout his tenure and assured them of his continued professional assistance whenever necessary.
In separate remarks, members of staff of the Bauchi Study Centre commended Galadima's leadership and contributions to the development of the centre, wishing him success in his new assignment in Abuja.
