The accreditation team of National Universities Commissions (NUC), on Thursday, October 16, 2025 visited Lagos Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), for the accreditation exercise of B.Sc Chemistry in the Faculty of Sciences.
Additionally, the centre also received the accreditation team for Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in the Faculty of Management Science, on Monday, October 26, 2025.
The accreditation team who arrived separately and on a different dates were received by the Centre Director, Prof. Alero Akujobi and her team, who led the delegations to various offices and facilities at the centre.
The teams made their first visits to the students' library to assess online resources in which they engaged some liberians on the e-materials, reviewed updated books and articles in which questions were thrown on availability of resources for students.
The coordinator of the team for B.Sc Chemistry, Prof.James M. Okuo, said the team is aiming to assess the quality and effectiveness of the programme through practical sessions.
He added that the study of science involves practical sessions as well as in theory.
During the equipment check, the Head of Chemistry Department, Dr. Musa Runde, demonstrated the functionality of some equipment which include extinguisher, colouring maker, and V- visible spectrophotometer.
At the end of the tour, chairman for accreditation of MBA, Prof. Zoaka A. Hassan, with his team requested for all required documents which were made available by the officers in charge.
Interactive sessions were held with student counsellors, facilitators, and students.
The NUC team for the B.Sc. Chemistry includes, Prof. Olayide Samuel Lawal, Prof.Francis Egbokhave, and Mr. Udeg Felix, while the NUC team fpr the MBA programme include, Prof.Sulu Babaita Isiaka, Prof. Umaru D. Muhammed and Dr. Irene Angela.
Others were representatives from NOUN which include the H.O.D Chemistry, Dr. Musa Dunde, Dr. Ibrahim.O.Abdulsalami; Mr. Ernest Okonkwo Onugwu and Mr. Allassan Enemona.
Equally, the NOUN representatives for MBA programme include Prof.Samson Osoba, Dr. Kadiri Kayode, Dr. Sufian Jelili, Dr. Ikechukwu B.Awusah, Mrs. Rachael Owhatuemuhor, Mrs. Aka-Nwachukwu Veronica, Mr. Onyekoro Attanasues, Mrs. Ali-Abimbola Adedolapo, Mr. Ibrahim Magudu, Mrs. Ebonu Charity and Mrs. Ladi Andrew.
