
The Acting Director, Obagaji Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Mr. Baba Usman has led an advocacy campaign team to the Methodist Church at Ogule in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State.
The director, who led the advocacy train to the church during a Sunday Service, acknowledged that the presence of the university’s delegation at the church was announced severally by the presiding Bishop. Rt Reverend Mark Elaigwu Ochinjele.
He used the opportunity to explain the unique nature of the university’s operation which is the Open and Distance Learning mode of education (ODL).
Usman also sensitised the teeming congregants of the church on the operation of the university and how they can secure admission into programmes of their choice in the university.
The director explained the advantages of ODL mode of learning, which NOUN champions, as the system offers students the ease of study due to its inherent flexibility and cost-effectiveness.
He added that as the director of the centre, he remains poised to make NOUN a household name in Agatu Kingdom, especially in Apa and Ohimini Local Government Areas and environs.
On his part, the Rt. Reverend Mark Elaigwu Ochinjele, the Bishop of the church, appreciated the advocacy team’s visit and assured them of church members’ enrollment.
The educational evangelism ended smoothly with appreciation message by Rt. Reverend Mark Elaigwu Ochinjele - the Bishop of Methodist Church in Agatu Kingdom of Benue State.
Distribution of NOUN flyers, face caps and brochures was carried out as the advocacy came to an end.
