The Special Study Centre for the Nigerian Air Force, Kaduna, National Open University of Nigeria's (NOUN), has been hosted to a courtesy call by the newly-appointed Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Nigerian Air Force Base Kaduna, Air Vice-Marshall Ahmed Yusuf Dari.
The Centre Director, Dr. Madu Baba Galadima, accompanied by some senior staff, said the visit was aimed at strengthening the already established relationship between the two stakeholders and thereby congratulating the AOC on his new appointment.
Speaking further on the purpose of the visit, he noted that the visit will serve as an avenue for discussion on mutual academic benefits between the two institutions.
Galadima expressed his appreciation to the NAF for the unquantifiable efforts to enhance the security of the local environment particularly by taking a drastic decision to demolish the Mami Market situated around the centre.
He described the initiative as critical in addressing the influx of criminals and other social vices into the environment.
However, Galadima pointed and raised concern about the propose of relocating the study centre's access gate which was intended to improve security but might affect the quick accessibility to the centre by students.
He appealed for NAF's intervention in making the learning environment easy and accessible.

In his remarks, the Air Officer Commanding, Air Vice Marshall Ahmad Yusuf Dari, welcomed and appreciated the NOUN team for the visit and explained the NOUN's effort in providing quality education to all individuals from all walks of life.
He assured that the new plan would not affect the centre's accessibility of students and maintained that education acquisition must be prioritised and made easier by providing accessible entrance to the centre's premises.
The AOC apologised for not informing the centre's management on the commencement of the project.
He, therefore, thanked the centre for the visit and presented them with a plaque. In return, the NAF Centre director reciprocated by presenting NOUN souvenir.
