The Ondo State Chapter of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Alumni Association has presented Awards of Excellence to outstanding graduates in recognition of their remarkable academic achievements, as well as a special award acknowledging exemplary leadership within the institution.
The awards were presented during the 15th Convocation Ceremony held at the Akure Study Centre in conjunction with the Oka Akoko Community Study Centre and Isua-Akoko Community Study Centre.
The event took place in a festive atmosphere and was led by the Alumni Chairman, Prince Lucky Okikiola Aremu, alongside other executive members, including Adegoke Promise (Secretary), Akinduro Sefunmi (Treasurer), and Oyebade Oluwaseun (Public Relations Officer). The executives also delivered a goodwill message from the National President of the association, Ambassador Ifeanyi Kingsley Obukwelu.
The award recipients included:
Omita Oluwatobi Gbenga – Distinction, Bachelor of Nursing Science
Adeniyi Job – First Class, B.Sc. Agricultural Science
Mende Oluwaseun Beatrice – First Class, Bachelor of Film Production.
Additionally, Dr. Joseph Babajide Oyadeyi, Director of the Oka Akoko Community Study Centre, was honoured with the title of “Iconic Study Centre Director” in recognition of his outstanding leadership and fatherly support to both staff and students over the years.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman described the awards as “a reward for good work and a call to greater responsibility,” while urging the newly inducted alumni to remain worthy ambassadors of the university.
