NOUN Announces Admission into 8-Week Certificate in Entrepreneurship Education

The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has opened admission into its Certificate in Entrepreneurship Education programme.

The Director, Directorate of Entrepreneurship and General Studies (DE&GS), Dr. Samuel Awolumate, disclosed that the programme will commence on September 30, 2026.

According to him, the programme is structured to equip participants with practical knowledge and skills for entrepreneurship and business development.

"It will be delivered virtually over eight weeks – six weeks of intensive training and two weeks for examinations and development of a Business Model Canvas," Dr. Awolumate said.

The programme will cover key areas including Entrepreneurial Thinking, Creativity and Innovation, Value Chain and Record-Keeping, Business Modelling, and Financial Planning and Management.

Other modules include Marketing, Monitoring and Evaluation, Technology in Business Management, Business Plan Development, Grant Winning Strategies, Business Sustainability, Business Registration and Regulatory Agencies, and Artificial Intelligence in Business Strategy and Operations.

Dr. Awolumate said applicants are required to have a minimum of three credits at O’Level. The application fee is N5,000, while course registration is N8,500 per module.

He added that beyond the training, participants will benefit from entrepreneurship incubation opportunities provided by DE&GS in collaboration with the Africa Centre of Excellence on Technology Enhanced Learning (ACETEL), to help nurture and scale their business ideas.

The programme will be facilitated by experienced academics and industry professionals.
