The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Technology, Innovation and Research) of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof. Christine Ofulue, has stressed the importance of transparency and efficiency in the university’s procurement processes.
Prof. Ofulue made this known on Thursday, October 22, 2026, while chairing the financial bid-opening exercise for projects under the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) and Paid Service Revenue at the university’s headquarters in Abuja.
She commended the Procurement Directorate, led by Ms. Dinah Dija Abbas, for its efforts in ensuring consistency in previous bid-opening exercises.
The exercise was attended by representatives of participating companies and university officials.
During the proceedings, the companies' financial bids were opened, and the corresponding bid amounts and proposed project completion periods were announced.
As part of the process, company representatives were also invited to sign against their respective financial submissions to support the transparency and accountability of the exercise.
The financial bid opening represents a stage in NOUN’s procurement process for the projects.
The submissions are subject to further evaluation in accordance with applicable procurement procedures before any contracts are awarded.
