The 31st Matriculation Ceremony of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) earlier scheduled to hold on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 has been shifted to October 7, 2026.

In a memo dated September 7, 2026 and signed by the Deputy Registrar, Academic Registry, Petu Kola Keji, the change of date was aimed at allowing newly admitted students to complete their registration process.

"The adjustment has become necessary due to the need to allow newly admitted students more time to complete their registration and clearance processes.

"Management, in granting this extension noted the need to continue to prioritisng an inclusive and seamless enrolment experience, where no qualified student is left behind," it said.

To this end, NOUN study centre directors have been asked to reschedule and organise the orientation exercise as well as communicate the changes to the affected students through all the communication channels.

The memo equally urged the Centre Directors to utilise the window in assisting the newly admitted students in conducting all outstanding registration and fee clearance processes before the ceremony.
