Peters visits Benin Study Centre

The vice-chancellor, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has paid a visit to the Benin Study Centre of the university in Benin, Edo State.

Peters, who along with his management team, was on a courtesy visit to the Oba of Benin,  Omo N'Oba N'Edo Uku' Akpolokpolo Ewuare 11.  to officially acquaint with and congratulate him on his appointment as the chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria, took time out to visit the study centre to appraise the state of facilities and activities at the centre.

After the management of the centre led by the acting centre director, Dr. Akeem B. Disu, has taken the vice-chancellor and his entourage on facility tour of the centre, the VC expressed his commitment  to upgrade the face of the centre to create a more welcoming and comfortable ambience for both staff and students.

Peters admonished staff of the centre to imbibe maintenance culture in order to protect facilities at the centre.

He recommended  regular servicing of equipment in order to preserve them and prolong their lifespan instead of leaving them to go bad and get thrown away.

The vice-chancellor charged members of staff of the centre to be more diligent in the discharge of their duties and courteous in interaction with students.

Peters emphasised that rendering excellent service to the students is key to improving and maintaining students population in the university.

Other members of the management team including the deputy vice-chancellor (Admin), Prof. Isaac Butswat, the registrar, Mr. Oladipo Ajayi,  the librarian, Dr. Angela Okpala, director, Advancement and Linkages, Mrs. Omoregieva Ileka,  also took turns to admonish staff of the centre on personal and corporate conduct in the discharge, of their duties as well as giving expert advice on their different professional areas.

The acting centre director, Dr. Akeem B. Disu  on behalf of his members of staff expressed his profound gratitude to the vice-chancellor on his visit to the centre.
