The Director, Africa Centre of Excellence on Technology Enhanced Learning (ACETEL), Prof. Grace Jokthan, has commended the conduct of the ongoing 2021_2 POP examination at Gombe Study Center.

In what could be considered as a maiden visit to the centre, the erudite professor was received by the centre director Dr. Adamu Bappah alongside other staff of the centre.

Jokthan was taken round the various offices and the POP examination hall during the conduct of the 2:00pm session.

She, after interacting with staff, also took out time off to evaluate the conduct and progress of the exercise and later issued out monitoring and evaluation instruments to be duly completed and scrutinised.

The visiting professor commended the management of the centre for providing conducive environment  to students with physical disabilities who could not be able to climb the upstairs to take their exam, as they have been allowed  to write within the centre's premises.

"Aside from the fact that the exam is going on well in a very conducive atmosphere and the students are well organised, I noticed that there are two students that have fracture. One has a visible POP on the leg, but they all strived to come for the exam.

“For me, it shows the level of the commitment the students have towards their studies and the study center was also able to accommodate and provide an enabling environment," she said.

The ACETEL director expressed her satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the examination at, describing the venue as conducive and well organised.

While appreciating the students' comportment in the examination hall, she encouraged the director to keep up the good work and ensure that NOUN is projected positively to the people of Gombe State.
