The Chairman, Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Hon. Lawi Yakubu Sumi, has pledged his administration’s support to the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Bogoro Study Centre.
Hon. Sumi disclosed that education is a priority at the council.
He gave the assurance while receiving the Bogoro Centre Director, Prof. Patrick Bogoro, and his team during an advocacy visit.
The chairman commended NOUN’s flexible learning model and pledged partnership to advance education and skills development in the council.

In his opening remarks, the centre director, Prof. Patrick Bogoro, explained that the visit was aimed at raising awareness of the study centre’s opportunities and urged residents, civil servants, and youths to embrace its programmes.
He expressed concern over the low student turnout despite the centre being fully equipped to provide quality education and lifelong learning.
Other NOUN officials took turns to highlight seamless and affordable admissions, vocational training, and entrepreneurial opportunities available at the centre, stressing the need for wider awareness.
