The Katsina Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has held a special prayer session in honour of the late University Bursar, Malam Nasiru Marafa, who died on September 6, 2026.
The solemn gathering, organised to pray for the repose of the deceased and commiserate with his family and the University Community, was led by the Director of the Katsina Study Centre, Dr. Babangida Iro.
The session was attended by members of staff of the centre and featured Qur’anic recitations, special prayers and reflections on the life and service of the late Bursar.
In his remarks, Dr. Iro described Marafa as a committed, humble and diligent officer who served the university with integrity and dedication.
“Malam Nasiru was a pillar of service. He was known for his quiet strength, professionalism and concern for the welfare of staff. His contributions to the growth of this university will remain indelible. We pray that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings and grants him Aljannatul Firdaus,” he said.
Dr. Iro urged members of staff to emulate the virtues that defined the late Bursar’s service, particularly honesty, hard work, professionalism and unity.
He also prayed for Almighty Allah to grant the bereaved family the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
The Katsina Study Centre expressed its heartfelt condolences to the management of NOUN and the family of Malam Nasiru Marafa, while joining the University Community in praying that Almighty Allah accepts his soul and rewards his good deeds.
